ARNE TREHOLT - A MAN AND HIS DESTINY

Arne Treholt, the Norwegian diplomate and assistant secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was arrested 10 years ago. Less than 18 months later he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for espionage in favour of the Soviet Union and Iraq. Arne Treholt has always denied the charge of espionage. The director paints a close portrait of the man, Arne Treholt. The film does not take the form of a new inquiry and does not try to turn up new disclosures in the case - but concentrates on the dramatic process which Arne Treholt has experienced and on the personal and human consequences.
